Some good cardio if you do the hills quickly and repeatedly! Very close to the subway so easy to get to. Great changes of elevation on red and orange trails! The pants are a little bit deteriorated, and they were a few trees down from a recent storm. But it is still a accessible and remarkable trail right in Manhattan.
Walked the Red trail loop with some meandering on the inner loop. A lot of the trail midway is encountered by construction sites, and part of the trail about feet goes along the HH Pkway so it was unpleasant.
There is no buffer for the noise level. Positive: Pretty much the whole trail is shaded. The highest strain of elevation is at the very beginning and it incrementally increases after that. Although the trail is paved, it is still surrounded by forest and not bad for a city hike. Neutral: Only one scenic view of the river was visible.
