Why tribes vengeance failed

But then how could anyone take the game seriously? The bugs, the poor balance choices the plasma gun? Same with the spectator mode, this game could be spectacular fun to watch, but no one can!! But you could turn it all around and make the next big thing with some strategy. You have absolutely no idea how lucky you are to have gained the Tribes community, you will never, ever, find anything like us again, and I am fairly certain that none of your games will ever be as highly rated as this one and I mean that.

This is your one and only chance to make something big, and I mean StarCraft big. There is a gap in the market for an FPS esport - you have the capacity to fill that gap with TA, but you will never have that again. Not putting the resources into T:A will be the worst decision Hi-Rez ever makes, and will stop them from being the company that they could become. Quotes of this post exist on The Wayback Machine. Copies of the original post, as far as I can tell, have been lost to the internet.

But there is still a Reddit discussion of it. Why did HiRez Entertainment take down the Tribes: Ascend forums, and this post with it, to move the community towards a subreddit instead? This is simple datacide on a giant scale.

The Tribes forums have threads spanning hundreds of posts detailing everything that was going wrong with the game since the early closed beta. Hirez has been pruning those threads and blaming the community for being toxic for no reason.

The evidence had been wiped away. Their next title will have a hapless audience that has no history to fall back on. The Global Agenda players warned the Tribals that this would happen.

And in turn the Tribes players warned those playing Smite. Hirez has a pathological problem of shooting itself in the foot when they are doing well. Using archaic marketing tricks and very poorly timed damage control. GrethSC on Reddit. It pains me to say goodbye to this game, because it was so incredible yet so poorly mismanaged. Maybe race modes. Keep it fresh, no need to limit yourselves to just shooting one another. They could spawn like 20 miles away and would ski at like mph roughly second ski using boost pads to get up to that speed.

Because the pads would boost you based on what speed you land on, it would be skill based cause the faster you can ski before boosting the more boost you get and the faster you can get into base potentially getting there before defenses are set up.

Would go invis right outside and try to get in. There'd be slow pads on the other end to slow back down and if you go too fast you splat into shields unless you can boost there faster than the shields set up? Edit 2: Tribes already has lore, just imagine the tribes fighting and come up with missions they'd have.

It could be like spec-ops type stuff or battle tournaments or sports tournaments even. Tribes League anyone? Last edited by Liborum ; 20 Nov, pm. Also, the price is pretty steep for something that has deplorable player count in its servers. Originally posted by Liborum :. Rupert View Profile View Posts.
